Cross Borneo trekking, beautiful jungle hike, mysterious island program 900km cross the border from West to East passing wilderness of Indonesia jungles.

Trans Borneo expedition consists of a group of (12 maximum) adventurous and passionate people from countries around the world, travelling and trekking across Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo), from one side to the other appximately 900Km.

Cross Borneo trekking is an extreme wilderness of jungle trekking in the tropical rainforest of Borneo (Kalimantan). Cross Borneo expedition that follows a historical expedition route of a Dutch botanist, DR. Anton W. Niewenhius in 1894 who crossed the jungle border of West and East Kalimantan (Borneo). This trekking expedition requires your good stamina and brave to attack rapids with a traditional wooden boat, attack steep mountains as well as to witness of Punan (Hunter and gatherer tribe of Dayak) and the unique of two famous river in Indonesia.

Linking the coastal towns of Pontianak and Samrinda, we will follow the equator and the natural highways of the Kapuas and Mahakam rivers. TOUR BOOKING PROCESS:
1.Please send us TOUR REQUEST ( IF prices not mentioned ) or Book Now to reserve the trip ( IF prices is mentioned in the tour programs ) including detail date you would like have and the number of partners.
2.Available trip departure will inform to you upon received your email.
3.Please write back to us that you are confirmed available date trips departure and packages offered. NOTE: If prices is exist in online packages, by sending Book Now, you agreed cost/prices as stated in web page trip itinerary. we will proceed for next step, sending invoicing.
4.When we get your confirmation, we will send you the official confirmation Paper as agreed (invoice).
5.we have right to cancel the reservation with or without notice when it over from the limit booking time
6.Limit booking is a week after receiving the paper confirmation.

TOURS PAYMENT:
1.When the confirmation is sent, we require deposit payment 35% from total land cost for guaranty booking(No Refund)
2.Balance of payment could should be made at least 2 weeks before departure date.
3.Payment could be made through PayPal will be apply additional surcharge 5% for the amount will be transferred.

Cross Borneo Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Jakarta Airport - Pontianak - Putussibau

Fly into into Putusibau via Pontianak, arrived Putussibau, picked up then directly transfer to hotel. Free at your own leisure while our guide and team prepare for the jungle expedition.

Day 2: Putussibau – Nanga Bungan Village

The trip starts from a boat station by traditional wooden longboat to reach Na. Bungan village. Along the way you will notice some longhouses, local fruit garden, rice field and rapids. Get your lunch on a sandy-rocky beach. In the Afternoon you will arrive in Nanga Bungan village.

Day 3: Nanga Bungan Village – Tanjung Lokang Village

Again in the traditional wooden longboat you will attack some big rapids and sometime pulling your boat to get Tanjung Lokang the last village.

Day 4: Tanjung Lokang Village – Trekking to Data Opet

From the village, the traditional wooden longboat will take you to the Jungle by following a shallow river and pass some rapids. before dark, preparing places to sleep. Resting with Coffee or Tea.

Day 5: Data Opet - Barokan Jungle Trekking

After breakfast, start the trekking by following a path, some time you have to cross the river. Lunch will be cooked and served on the way near the river.

Day 6: Barokan – Trekking to Lea River Mouth

Trekking here is never boring, there is always new development, estimating distance, location, progress the road to follow. On the trekking, the guide might introduce you to the skills of Dayak fishing and fire lighting sodden wood.

Day 7: Lea River Mouth – Trekking to Savang River

The trekking to be continue, while trekking you can feel the genuineness of Borneo’s rain forest, enjoy the clear water, and listen to the wild animal’s calls.

Day 8: Savang River – Muller Valley

The trekking seemed to be heavier than before combination between dray and wet trekking.

Day 9: Muller Valley Trekking - Opan Tanah

Today is heaviest hiking, attack the steep and slippery mountain of Muller to reach the border between West and East Kalimantan. This point is unique as all people who pass this area should leave their belonging to avoid attack of bad spirit. After lunch, the trekking continues to reach a point for jungle camp constructing.

Day 10: Opan Tanah – Batu Bahat

The journey will be continued through the tropical rain forest, a dip in the river, a rest to be taken and surrounding to be examined an investigation of just a few square metres will reveal something different of animals every time.

Day 11: Batu Bahat - Muara Huvung

Today is the last trekking activity, after hour and hour you will reach Huvung River mouth. Here you wait your local longboat to take you to the village. As the longboat is delivered from the village.

Day 12: Muara Huvung - Tiong Ohang

Now time to head down the Mahakam river by traditional wooden longboat to find the village of Dayak Aoheng.

Day 13: Tiong Ohang - Long Bangun

Breakfast at the local house/ local inn, then another 8 - 10 hours sail by longboat to Long Bagun.

Day 14 & Day 15: Long Bangun - Samarinda

After breakfast, leave the village of Long Bagun by houseboat. Lunch and dinner provided at the houseboat. During the sailing trip, you can explore and learn the local way of live river side civilization' which is much different from what we normally have in the dry land area. The rest of the day is free for your own activities.

Day 16: Samarinda – Balikpapan- Fly Jakarta

Breakfast at hotel then in the appropriate time; drive to Balikpapan airport for catch your flight to the next destination.

What to bring during Cross Borneo Trekking:

Water proof backpack (trekking)/Dry bags.
Clothing should be light.
Preferably cotton with at least one long sleeved shirt and pants.

Notifications of Cross Borneo Trekking:

You will get wet on the boat. Please protect your baggage.
There is no bathroom is in the Jungle. For women, it is recommended to bring sarong (traditional bath wear for women) to bath in the river.
There is no electricity.
This tour depends on the weather. If needed, the tour will possibly be adjusted accordingly.
