Sailing Vessel Tour

Sailing vessel tour, visiting Orang utan Tanjung puting Kumai Borneo the highlights trip of sailing vessel people after sailing tour around the worlds. If you are stopping by on the island of Lombok at Medana bay, you may contact us for land tour arrangement or even for Mount Rinjani hike. We are able to organise for Sailing vessel tour groups who is coming to Lombok.

I know Karen spoke with you earlier today and we are trying to throw together a trip to Java if it's possible. We're assuming the price would include; all AC transportation (except airfare), hotel accommodation, ground transportation, entrance fees to sites, English speaking guides/drivers. Assuming we'd be responsible for our own meals.

1.We are now thinking once our Kumai trip is over we'd sail up to Belitung island and leave our boats there and get them all secure, do laundry and organize ourselves for a trip with you to Java. At present we don't have exact dates but anticipate a 4-5 day trip, with 3-4 night stay. Starting approx Oct 10-11 through Oct 15-16. The Belitung flight is only 1 per day arriving in Jakarta at noon, and departing Jakarta daily at 9:25am back to Belitung.

2.We will now most likely fly from Belitung(Tanjung Pandan) to Java, but at present we are Only seeing flights into Jakarta and this is not our first choice of airports. Our preference is to fly much closer perhaps into Solo or Semarang. Can you tell us are there flights directly into Solo or Semarang? Any help with this would so appreciated! Dependent upon where we arrive ideally our trip would begin with airport pick up service and heading towards our locations/itinerary. However, if we can only get as close as Jakarta we may need assistance coordinating either a train or bus ride up to Solo as I'm assuming that's the most direct travel route. Is this correct to head to Solo? Again please advise.

3.We'd need lodging per night. Deeley family 6 people total; 2 adults and 4 children so need 2 rooms with 1 double/1 single per room or 2 doubles per room. Erickson family; 2 adults & 1 child. Need 1 double + 1 single/ 2 doubles also acceptable per room. Rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

4.Transportation unsure how many people a mini-bus serves or perhaps extra large van taxi would be ideal if not too expensive. Otherwise 2 hired cars needed. Drivers/guides that speak some English would be extremely helpful. Total of 4 adults & 5 children so either mini bus or 2 hired cars with tight fit.

5.Locations or Highlights of trip we'd like to see:
a).Tour Borobudur & Mendut Temples

b).Tour Yogakarta; Kraton (palace), Pasar Ngasem (bird market), Pasar Beringharja (main market), & possibly tour either Batik Plentong or Batik Winotosastro shops as give free tours and demonstrations on how batik is made & finish with Prambanan Temple.

c).If we are traveling through Solo it might be worth a stop at Danarhadi Batik Museum as have ancient batiks, but demonstration for all of us, teaching on process of Batik, better than a shop tour.

d).We also have yet to see a Javanese Puppet show and think the children might really enjoy this so if we could fit that into our trip that would be terrific!

This is what we've been able to organize so far Gilang, and now need some questions answered by you; airports, price per adult, price per child, standard of lodging, type of transportation, etc...Thank you so much for trying to make our trip to Java a reality...we're hopeful it can work and that we can afford it. Attached is both mine and Karen's email address along with mobile numbers. Karen Deeley, Kathleen Erickson.

Thanks so much, looking forward to hearing back from you.

This section covers Kumai (a highlight!) in the west of Indonesia. Kumai is a true jungle town, with shades of Lord Jim. It is also the home of the orang utan rehabilitation center, where orang utans are reintroduced into the wild after being orphaned or put out of their homes in Java or Sumatra. If you ever get to Kumai or Lombok island, you should contact him at: adventuretourtravelindonesia@gmail.com

We enjoyed our sailing vessel tour so very much. Ivend was a try pleasure to have for our guide. His love of nature and of the creatures and this area is obvious and we appreciated everything he did for us. Also, Popeye and our cook were incredible - thank you so very much for a lovely experience. We are also very happy that we had the big boat "Princess" - so nice!.

The instructions for yachts wanting to sail upriver to Kumai are as follows:

Using Admiralty chart 1964, proceed to the green buoy at 02 57’ .5 South,
111 41’.0 East. As you approach the buoy, look for the leading marks (white Triangle) on the shore, bearing 023 True. Leaving the buoy to starboard, steer 023 True, parallel to the shore, for about 3 NM to Tanjung Keluang point, avoiding the shoal that extends from the shore. At Tanjung Keluang, alter course towards the next leading marks, which bear 335 True (small white post in front of white triangle on the far shore).

These marks are difficult to see. After about 1 NM on this heading, you will see leading marks on your port side (white post and triangle) – when these are in line bearing 023 True, alter course to 030 True. Ahead you should see the next set of leading marks (two tall white posts) on this bearing, but they may be difficult to identify. Continue upstream for about 3.5 NM, towards the leads, then continue further upstream, staying mid-channel, to Kumai.

There are no other leading marks or buoys. Do not anchor opposite main harbor of Kumai, just anchor down or up from the harbor. Big ship is coming often from java. Anchor opposite the town, close to the eastern bank of the Kumai River. Also just up from main harbor of Kumai, there is a office of national park and they have a jetty where you can put your dinghy.
